Submissions run through the Trakhees Services Portal and must be made by a Trakhees-accredited consultant or contractor. The process is broader than a single permit: it spans concept design sign-off, the building/fit-out permit itself, a mobilisation NOC before site works start, inspections during construction, and a final operational fitness certificate before you can trade.

Application procedure

  1. Concept Design NOC. Initial layout and design sign-off before detailed drawings are prepared.
  2. Building/Fit-out Permit application. Submitted through the Trakhees Services Portal by an accredited consultant or contractor.
  3. Mobilisation & Signboard NOC. Required before site works and signage installation can begin.
  4. Site/Project Status Inspection. Trakhees inspects progress during construction.
  5. Completion Certificate. Requested as a partial or final certificate once works are complete.
  6. Operation Fitness Certificate. The final clearance required before occupancy or trading can start.

Documents required

  • Existing approved drawings (setting-out plan, floor plans)
  • Proposed architectural and MEP drawings, stamped by a Trakhees-accredited consultant

Fees & payments

Trakhees does not publish a flat public fee schedule. Costs are calculated per submission and service type and disclosed through the Trakhees portal at the time of application.

Note: Confirm current fees directly through the Trakhees Services Portal or by calling Trakhees on 800 990 before budgeting — third-party estimates circulating online are not official figures.

How SMB Design & Build helps

Our approvals team is in-house — the same people preparing your design and MEP drawings submit and follow up directly with Trakhees. We manage this alongside every other authority your project touches, so nothing falls between two consultants. See the full Authority Approval overview, or read our complete approvals guide for how these authorities interact on a typical project.
